An Ode to the Exams

Ah well, Im a day late, but im here all the same. You see, with all these stupid little exams flying around the place, finding some quiet time to breathe is getting just a little hard. Well at any rate, i should be runnning normal by april 24th.

Since the exams are the main theme in my life right now, i think they deserve their place in the spotlight. So here it goes:

"It can't be that hard", i said to myself, "It's only a couple of chapters more. Nothing i can't do in a couple of hours!"

"What are you nuts!!?!?!" The other guy in my head erupted..."Couple of chapters, yea sure, but you know ofcourse that these things come back every year in the stupid papers! You better be getting these things done before you doze off!"

Somehow that guy one the argument and i stayed up another couple of hours. The extra strong Coffee doing it's job really well.
I managed to just about understand what Subsection 2 of Clause 23 of the Indian Factories Act meant, when my brain gave up. I found myself 4 hours later, face down in my book. Time to get up. I was up; atleast in the physical sense. My head was still running through the credits from the dream i was watchin that night.

Ofcourse, the next task was to get myself to the exam hall. A very irritating Rickshaw ride later, and here i was, seemingly prepared but comepletely ill at ease with the whole affair! It didn't help that everyone was talking about Subsection 3 and not 2 which i had studied..."crap!" was all i managed to mutter.

It began, rather horrendously ofcourse, i couldn't quite remember too much, to my relief, they did ask a vague question about the (only) subsection i remembered. Soon enough though, the whole thing was over.

There were 7 more days of this to go.

Well im now 4 days into the bloody thing. And it onl;y gets worse as far as i can see. Poor idiots asked us a question about the examination system being flawed in our Legal Language paper. It was one among 4 options. I imagine that it was going to be a favorite with most students. A spot poll after the questions among my friends confirmed what i had suspected. Someone who has the unfortunate task of correcting our papers is going to face 19 years of collected frustrations of over 10,000 students when he gets to that question. I prayed for him during the Easter servive! He'd need it!

Anyhow, the last four papers are calling me. Have you ever been in a situation where you know something unpleasant is coming up and your only choice is to go right through it. Well multiply that feeling by 4 and it's still not close to what those guys in my head are feeling right now. They work hard you know. But those idiots setting the question paper seem unlikely to cooperate.
Alan Jackson is singing a cover of "Tequila Sunrise" which reminds me. I'm gonna be seeing one after my exams!

Cheers!! :P
